Where to sleep
If you arrive a Petén a day before the tour begins, the community of Carmelita offers you the opportunity to live with the local forest culture and you can spend the night in the Hotel Carmelita, with comfortable rooms and showers and toilets, as well as an public area where you can rest in hammocks or just listen to the song of the birds, while you prepare to start your adventure in the jungle.
Hotel Carmelita
Our hotel has 7 rooms with capacity to accommodate up to 14 people at a time. We also have a covered camping area with capacity to accommodate up to 20 people at a time. The hotel also has a conference room if you want to hold a workshop, training or special events with us.
When you stay at our hotel you contribute to the generation of jobs, since you will be attended by Carmelita inhabitants, who will be your hosts and will share with you the stories of the chicleros, xateros and the world of the green mystery.
